How long is it from one time to another?

Enter a start and end time as 24-hour HH:MM or HH:MM:SS to see the elapsed time as H:MM:SS, along with the total hours (to two decimal places), total minutes, and total seconds. Everything updates live as you type. It is handy for work shifts, study blocks, cooking timers, and meeting lengths.

If the end time is the same as or earlier than the start time, it is treated as the next day — a shift from 22:00 to 06:00 is 8 hours — and the result is labeled as crossing midnight. An inline error appears instead of a result when a time is empty, malformed, or out of range (hour above 23, or minutes or seconds above 59). Calendar dates, time zones, daylight saving, 12-hour AM/PM input, and break deductions are out of scope.
