Random VAT Number Fixture Generator

1-50 VAT numbers
Fake VAT number generated locally in your browser with the Web Crypto API. Each value pairs a real country prefix with a national number carrying a valid country check digit, but the identifiers are synthetic test data, not real VAT registrations. Pick a country or generate a batch of up to 50 and copy them as lines, CSV, or a JSON array.

What is a VAT number?

A VAT (Value Added Tax) registration number identifies a business registered for VAT in the EU or the UK. It is written as a 2-letter country prefix followed by a country-specific national number, and most countries end that number with a check digit (or check letter) that guards against typos. This generator supports a curated set of well-documented formats — Germany, Austria, Netherlands, Ireland, Italy, Spain, France, and the United Kingdom — each with a valid check character. The anatomy panel above breaks a generated value into its country prefix, national number, and check segment.

Tax-form fixtures

Generate fake VAT-shaped values for testing EU/UK e-commerce, invoicing, tax (Stripe Tax / Avalara), B2B checkout, and ERP flows, form validation, seed data, parser tests, and mock API payloads.

Each value combines a real country prefix with a random national number and a valid check digit for that country, but the identifiers are synthetic fixture data only and do not correspond to any real business or VAT registration. Use the country selector to fix the format for per-market fixtures.

Building the rest of an invoicing or onboarding flow? Generate a fake US EIN (Employer Identification Number), IBAN, BIC / SWIFT code, or invoice number fixture too.
