About advantage & disadvantage

Advantage and disadvantage are core dice mechanics in Dungeons & Dragons 5th edition. When you roll with advantage, you roll two twenty-sided dice and keep the higher result; with disadvantage, you keep the lower. They model situations that help or hinder you without stacking a flat numeric bonus.

This roller shows both dice and highlights the one that counts, so you can roll a single attack, save, or check at a glance instead of rolling twice and comparing by hand.

How it works

  1. Your browser generates two independent, cryptographically secure d20 values (1–20)
  2. Advantage keeps the higher die; disadvantage keeps the lower
  3. Both dice are shown, with the kept die highlighted
  4. The result is displayed instantly — no server request needed
